The Museum of Scott County has also
hosted several community events to invite the public in to take part in
the museum project. In the fall of 2006, we had our first annual
"Heritage Fall Festival." The festival was a great success with
approximately 3,000 folks visiting the Museum of Scott County. Below
are several pictures of the 2006 Heritage Fall Festival. The
following picture is the rail splitting exhibit with patrons watching the
musicians in the background.
The picture below is a display showing how hunters prepared camping food in the forest.
The Heritage Festival also provided a flint knapping display for patrons to view as seen below.

![]() The Sorghum display was a crowd favorite as well. Students help run the sorghum mill while patrons were able to buy the freshly produced sorghum on site. The following picture is of the blacksmith exhibit where tools were created using the old time blacksmithing methods.
Quilting is a large part of the heritage of Scott County and there were several quilt makers on hand to display their quilting abilities.
There were several games for the kids and "kids at heart" to participate in. Games included, corn hole toss, face painting, and as seen below, horseshoes.
